Roller Skating at My Skateland USA - Jacksonville, TX
SkateLand USA in Jacksonville, Texas, is a beloved roller skating rink owned and operated by Javier and Nereyda Salaiz since April 2010. Javier, who also owns Adolfo's Pizza, stumbled upon the opportunity to purchase the rink when planning his children's birthday party there. The previous owner recognized Javier's love for kids and offered to sell the business to him, fulfilling Javier's dream of owning a skating rink.
The Salaiz family embraced the new venture wholeheartedly, with their children excitedly skating daily during the initial renovations. Although the rink required rebuilding from the ground up, the improvements were mostly cosmetic, incorporating Jacksonville's school colors and mascot throughout the facility.
Today, SkateLand USA has become a popular family-friendly destination, attracting generations of skaters. Javier takes pride in witnessing children who first learned to skate at the rink grow into teenagers and return as regulars. His vision is for SkateLand USA to continue fostering cherished memories for families.
Lace up and unleash your inner disco king or queen! Roller skating isn't just about gliding around – it's a total mood booster. At the heart of SkateLand USA's success lies a dedicated team of passionate individuals who have poured their energy and love into creating a truly special skating experience for the Jacksonville community.
Javier and Nereyda Salaiz - Owners
Javier and Nereyda Salaiz, the dynamic husband-and-wife duo, are the driving force behind SkateLand USA. With a deep love for children and a desire to provide a safe, family-friendly environment, they took over the reins of the rink in April 2010.
Javier, a Diboll native and owner of Adolfo's Pizza, stumbled upon the opportunity to purchase the rink while planning his children's birthday party. Recognizing his affinity for kids, the previous owner saw the perfect fit and offered to sell the business to Javier, fulfilling his dream of owning a skating rink.
Nereyda, a supportive partner in this venture, shared Javier's excitement, and together they embarked on a journey to revitalize the rink from the ground up.
The Salaiz Children
The Salaiz children played a pivotal role in the early days of SkateLand USA. They were thrilled by their parents' decision to acquire the rink.
With infectious enthusiasm, the Salaiz children spent countless hours on the rink's floor during the initial renovations, falling and getting back up, determined to master the art of skating. Their dedication and love for the sport set the tone for the family-friendly atmosphere that SkateLand USA embodies today.
The Artistic Team
SkateLand USA's vibrant and welcoming ambiance is a testament to the talented artistic team behind its design. From the Jacksonville school colors and mascot adorning the exterior signage to the whimsical "Kids in Motion" mural inside the food court, every detail has been carefully crafted to create a sense of community and belonging.
The mirrored disco ball suspended over the rink pays homage to the nostalgia of bygone eras, while the modern music selection keeps the atmosphere fresh and appealing to the younger generation of skaters.
The SkateLand USA Family
Beyond the core team, SkateLand USA has fostered a strong sense of community among its patrons. Javier takes pride in knowing each regular visitor by name, witnessing the growth of children who first learned to skate at the rink and now return as teenagers.
This extended family of skaters contributes to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, creating a space where cherished memories are forged and passed down through generations.
SkateLand USA's success is a testament to the dedication, passion, and collaborative efforts of the Salaiz family, the artistic team, and the broader community of skaters who have embraced this beloved Jacksonville institution as their own.
